5pm Bells ring to announce the start of the festivities. The carnival figures set out round the streets accompanied by the Giants of Mahón and Llucmaçanes and the Mahón Bugle and Drum Band.
6pm The Caixers gather in Carrer Sant Jaume.
6.30pm The first notes on the flute are played at the Residents’ Association Hall.
6.35pm The fiesta flag is presented and the cavalcade sets off to tour the streets.
7.30pm Compline at the parish church.
8pm The traditional Jaleo begins in the square, with music by Es Migjorn Band.
00.30am Public dance with the group Sarau.
Sunday 19 August
9.30am Reveille round the streets with the Mahón Bugle and Drum Band.
10am The Caixers gather in Carrer Sant Jaume.
10.15am The Fiesta flag is collected and the cavalcade sets out from the Residents’ Association Hall.
11am Mass for the Caixers at the parish church.
12 noon The traditional Jaleo takes place in the square, with the presentation of the traditional green canes to the horsemen, accompanied by samba music played by the Es Migjorn Band.
3pm Traditional reception at the Residents’ Association Hall.
9pm Concert by La Xaranga del Xubec.
11pm Grand public dance with the group Chepito y los Mambo Cha.
12 Midnight Firework display at the football pitch.
00.30am Grand public dance as Fiesta finale with Chepito y los Mambo Cha.
