Summer has finally arrived here in Menorca – the weather is glorious and there is a lovely happy feeling across the Island as visitors, friends and family start to arrive from all over to enjoy the delights of the very special beaches, coves and the natural beauty of Menorca.
At the time of going to press, the best news is that travel restrictions for the UK have finally started to ease off – no quarantine required on return to the UK (for the time being at least) and we really hope that this will continue going forward. The difficult time of adhering to all the rules is certainly paying off, more people vaccinated – approximately 60% of the adult population with one vaccine and 40% of the adult population have now received both doses. The great relief also that masks are now not required to be worn outdoors in public spaces, provided of course that social distancing can be maintained – a step in the right direction depending of course on your views! A sense of regained freedom to be able to wander around all the towns and ports mask free is a great feeling – something we used to take for granted before the pandemic.
In this edition, the Roqueta team continue to bring you all the latest news on the Island with the Island News Section, What’s On and Local News. There are lots of new restaurant openings, galleries and art exhibitions, not to mention musical and sporting events – a rich tapestry for everyone’s taste and interests. We hope you enjoy the varied articles and a big thank you to all those who contribute.
Wishing all of you, our Readers, whether resident, a villa owner or on holiday, a very well-deserved relaxing time this summer in Menorca.
Salud!
