2020 and we are raring to go. The ROQUETA team is all assembled, and we have enjoyed the last few weeks putting this edition together.
We have tweaked a few things, evolution, not revolution. Small design changes and a little more direction on some of the editorial content to make the magazine more relevant and interesting. But have no fear, all the old favourites are still present and correct.
Two of the more popular regular articles are as prominent as ever, the Island News and What’s On. We have plenty on food and drink, recipes, fashion, interiors, wellness and gardening. The focus of this month’s Eating Out guide is tapas. Found some really great places too.
Look out for our on-going crusade on enhancing Menorca’s environment, and how we must clean up and protect it for future generations who follow. Hauser and Wirth have provided feedback on the progress of the project they have on the Isla del Rey, and there is some information about Brexit and what may or may not happen. We also understand that the eagerly awaited book on Menorca by Graham Byfield is at print and due on the island soon.
The main talking point on the island at the time of writing is the development of coronavirus, Covid-19. At the time of going to press, the situation globally and in Menorca changes by the hour. What is clear is that it will have an effect on tourism. The only question is the length of the pandemic. Is it a three-month issue or longer? We have some practical advice as to what you should do if you have some symptoms, and how to access up to date information from both the Balearic government and the Foreign Office.
At the time of writing some events that are listed in the What’s On may be cancelled or postponed. Please check on the relevant websites.
